CBOC Whitewater gives you the
best rafting on Northern California's three forks of the American
River
| North Fork American River |
Chamberlain Falls Run
Class IV+
Beginning on the pristine peaks of the Desolation
Wilderness, the spring runoff of the North Fork American roars down this narrow
granite canyon with relentless determination. Unhampered by upstream dams, this
cataract current plunges through almost 5 miles of nearly continuous rapids,
slam dancing over gut-wrenching drops and boulder-chocked chutes. Slaughter's
Sluice, Zig-Zag, Achilles Heel, and Bogus Thunder--it's a fast food feast for
adrenaline junkies. Think you're tough enough? Excellent physical condition,
previous rafting experience, and wetsuits are required. Sign up early for a
ride you won't forget.

Two-Day South Fork/North Fork
Combo
Class III/Class IV+
This trip combines two of our favorite rivers into one great
experience. We begin with Whitewater 101-- an introductory warm-up on the South
Fork Gorge run on the first day, then camp overnight at our private river camp.
On day two we advance to our graduate course in river skills on the North Fork
Chamberlain Falls run. It is the adventure combo of a lifetime, a PhD in
unmitigated fun. Necessary experience is gained on the first day, but good
physical condition is mandatory. Wetsuits will be needed on the North Fork and
are included free. All meals, from lunch on day one to lunch on day two are
included. Arrive the night before your trip and enjoy an extra night of camping
and breakfast the next morning for a small additional fee.
